My First #Book and My First Year of #Blogging

thank you, gratitude, photography

I can’t even believe that it’s been a year. On the first day of Sunny September, out of an impulse I created a WordPress blog. I don’t remember  from where I got the inspiration, but somehow the name “Trablogger” came to my mind and fortunately it was available. And thus I took my first step.

When I look back, it was one of the best things  that happened to me so far. It gave me confidence, direction and a purpose.  All of your likes and comments were/are so encouraging. It obviously gave me the much-needed confidence. When I look at it now, it might have even made me a bit arrogant, that I even started to give Photography advises like an expert on that field. Still I’m just another self learned amateur photography enthusiast.

But the real confidence boost was given to my writing. I never thought I could write anything interesting. All of your constant support changed that belief in me. The confidence escalated to over confidence and I took it to one step further and attempted to write my first book.

Today that  dream has materialised. Today I am publishing the Kindle edition of my first book. What could be a perfect occasion than the first year anniversary of my blog, to publish the book?

Here it is.  Click here to have a look at Amazon

It wouldn’t have possible without all your constant support and encouragement.

Those who want the paperback version, do contact me using the contact form at the end of this post. I will get back to you with the details. As of now the paperback edition is within India only.

Back in Nov. 2014, when I reached my 100th post, I thanked all the people who were encouraging me that time. When I checked that post, most of them are still with me and still encouraging me. I am truly grateful for all the lovely people out there.

So I am taking this opportunity to thank everyone who encouraged me during my blogging journey and those helped me unconditionally at various stages of writing this book.

Thank you…

  • First and Foremost thanks goes to Sona for reading the draft line by line, at times between the lines to correct  all the spelling, grammatical, punctual mistakes that I had made and trust me, I had made a lot.
  • Dr. Himanshu Bhatnagar for doing the initial editing, reading it in one sitting and encouraging and helping me with self publishing ideas.
  • Abi for appearing out of nowhere to magically transform the raw, amateur formatting of the book into a much better version and for saving  me from a lot of trouble.

    Un abrazo.

  22. Congratulations Jithin,

Many people search for a calling, others wait for it. Some have it laid out for them and follow. Only a few make it. You’re one of them. The journey is my path, as a title, speaks loud for itself.
And the very act of writing it, is a great accomplishment. I’m proud of you.
Sharing these words of acknowledgment to all of us, speaks also volumes about the fabric you are made of as a human being.
    You’re special.
I admire your originality from the start. A determined young man who lives his passion for photography and travel, and makes this not a lone journey, as he includes everyone he meets along his way, learning and discovering the world and expanding his mind.

Heartfelt thanks for your consideration. I’m grateful for our interactions and honest chats, and look forward to having many more.

May your journey be long, successful and happy.

  25. Hey Jithin,

Did I miss the drum roll lol 🙂 Congratulations! Fantastic achievement, and the perfect way to celebrate your talent 🙂 Such inspiration must surely set you up nicely for the next publication, which I imagine is being penned as we chat here lol You have to keep the momentum flying!

It’s always been a great pleasure to visit and read your Blog Jithin, I’ve enjoy the diversity and the breadth of your observational skill. Sunsets, sunrises, street life, townships, people…the photographic stories have captured the essence of your destinations and always leave a permanent impression with me. Your commentary is personal, clearly defined, and succinct, and adds a spice of life to the mysteries and reflective quality of your photography. Every visit is an education that provides a fascinating insight into corners of this beautiful world that I’d not have opportunity to visit. Judging by the many comments you receive, your readership is supportive and wholly encouraging, and you must find great strength and inspiration in that as well. There is of course one special destination that you described that still has me captivated…you know which this is of course…and if ever I visit, i’ll be absolutely certain to be in touch. 🙂

I wish you every wonderful success with the publication, and further, continued success through your Blog and travels. Excellent achievement, thoroughly deserved, well done!

  29. Thanks for the mention Jithu.. Its a nice long list. I am sure the writing will be good as I have been enjoying your blogs a lot. Wish you all the best.

  30. Wow…that was one amazing post and heart touching too…Jithin I think it’s been almost a year of our association through wordpress and it makes me so happy to know that you have written your own book…I too have a similar dream…but don’t know if I will ever have your Kind of perseverance to make it a reality … I have been having a mad and crazy time ever since I set foot here in Ooty….and sadly haven’t found much time to write or click and so not active on the blog..In fact I really miss our flash fiction chain which motivated me to write even in my busiest time..
Since you have taken time out to thank ud all , I think I need to thank you for so many things as well….Firstly for being an honest , sincere and modest human being which shows well in your writing s, for all the times you have offered to help me ( and I shamelessly refused !) , for inspiring the flash fiction chain , for encouraging us to travel more and click better pictures….
May God bless you in all your endeavors… Stay in touch…

    1. Hello Sweety.. after a long time! No dream is too big, especially the one to write a book. Now I can tell you 😉
I am sure when you settle down a bit in Ooty, it will be the best place to write a book, maybe a series of them.
In fact, i have asked quite a few ff-chainers to start a new one on their blog. Now I am asking you. Why dont you start one?
Well thank you so much for all your reasons to thank me. I am so honoured. Will keep in touch.

  37. What an amazing post – acknowledging all who accompanied you on your journey – of which blogging was an integral part – this past year.
Am sure the rest of your journey will be an amazing read too.

Incredible .. you have been out there for just a year and have such a following of fans and friends 🙂 I guess your enthusiasm, willing assistance to other bloggers and tongue in cheek repartee acts like a magnet in the blogosphere.

Congrats my friend and blessings on your journey.
