The fun thing about Mundane Monday Challenge to me is that I have started looking for Mundane things to capture for the next weeks. So this happened while I was taking a train ride last week.

If you like this picture, can you tell why do you like it?

So What are you trying this week?

  1. Wow, I thought of a train when I saw it, but as I studied it, I was not sure about the right side part which looked like bars on the window? Or is that between cars? Anyway, I like it, probably more from the point of view that it seems from another time. I like places that evoke days gone by, and this shot does that for me.

    1. Well you have just experienced the Indian railway magic. 😉
Yes, you were right. It is a train. And we have bars here on the window. The window can be opened and there are bars except for the emergency windows. These open windows make Indian train journey very special. 🙂

      1. Yesterday a friend of mine told me about seeing an old steam engine train make its annual journey, and I wondered, as I read your telling of your ‘railway magic’ if the trains you presented were steam engine trains? That would be amazing magic, for sure!

        1. Well, no. This is not a steam engine. But there is one special steam express service, for tourism purposes only.
To understand the Indian train magic, you will have to take a journey by yourself. 🙂

    1. Blogging 101 is great. So is seat no. 102 😉
Well Yes i am from India and living here in India only.
Well I’ve found a way to send paperback anywhere in the world. So I think I need to update that sentence.
So you thought I am from the USA?

  2. I do see a train journey in there! Phew! But, I also see the numbers as if it is written on a chalkboard in school and the bars on the window as the windows in school as well. So, there 😀

  4. Great capture. What I love about this picture is that it reminds me of the many train journeys I have done. My college was some 18 hours away from home so every three months I was taking the train home. And those were the days when ac coaches were for the rich not students 🙂
